The images show that the front fog lights have moved higher up the bumper bar and the tail lights have received a minor re-shape.

The interior appears to remain fairly similar to the outgoing Captiva 5. The majority of the changes reside under the bonnet.

The biggest news is the addition of a diesel powertrain for the Captiva 5, more on this later though.

One of the Captiva 5′s biggest complains has always been the lack of power available from the petrol engine. The revised 2.4-litre four-cylinder petrol engine gets a 20kW power boost to 123kW, with a higher revving engine. The new engine also brings with it a six-speed manual transmission and a six-speed automatic transmission.

Seating remains at a five passenger capacity.

The new diesel engine is a 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that produces 135kW. The Captiva 5 will remain front wheel drive only for petrol variants and will only be available in all-wheel-drive in the single diesel variant. The diesel variant will also only be available with a six-speed automatic transmission.

Additionally, the Captiva 7 will receive the same engine, but will also receive a beefed up 3.0-litre naturally aspirated V6 petrol engine. The .2-litre reduction in engine capacity yields added power, with 30kW gained, boosting power levels to 190kW.

In addition to a new high-spec interior developed by Siemens VDO in Australia, the HSV Grange E Series 3 is possibly going to receive automatic parking, similar to that seen in the Volkswagen and Lexus range of vehicles.

If the spy photos are anything to go by, the prototype test vehicle is using the technology. Whether it makes its way onto the final product is a different question, though.

Additional changes to the HSV Grange E Series 3 include an up-rated engine. The Grange will now be powered by the same 325kW, 6.2-litre V8 LS3 engine as seen fitted to the E Series 2 GTS.

Other exterior changes include a new front and rear bar, new wheels and LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs).

Expect to see the HSV Grange E Series 3 released at this year’s Sydney International Motor Show.

The Series 2 range of Holden Commodores will see minor styling changes, including new headlights and a revised boot. The interior will also receive a remake, with Siemens VDO in charge of the new touch screen display that will feature across the range.

Although Pavle.com.au can’t reveal its original images or their source, we have had our CGI artist knock up carbon copies of the Holden Commodore VE Series 2 in Omega, Berlina and SS V-Series form.

These pictures give you a great idea of what the new model looks like and what to expect when it’s launched in the coming months.

The pictures clearly show the masked Commodores alongside a Pontiac G8.

Upon closer inspection, the headlights have increased in size and it seems that the front bumper bar has moved further out.

It’s unclear whether the engines being tested are from the current crop or include diesel technology.

The VF Commodore is rumoured to receive a revised front end and interior. Sources within Holden suggest evaluation of prototypes is currently underway with road traversing vehicles (such as the one pictured), along with public workshops on its design elements.

In addition to the design revision, Holden is likely to introduce a turbocharged four-cylinder engine into the Commodore range, allowing the vehicles to use BioFuel, similar to that currently on offer from Saab.

The iTi (Intelligent Turbo Injection) engines will be capable of using E85 ethanol fuel in a bid to possess a greener image.
